Teresa LaMaster is the Center’s Interim Development Team Lead. In this role, she is responsible for guiding and supporting the team in responsibilities with funders as well as preparing for the transition to a new Vice President for Development. From 2015 to 2021, Teresa served as the Executive Vice President for Operations and General Counsel. She led the Center’s operations and legal functions and was responsible for leading groups through several key projects, including the build-out and move to the Center’s current space, management’s recognition of the Center union and management-side bargaining for its first contract, and launching the Center’s early racial equity and inclusion initiative.

Prior to her work at the Center, Teresa served as Associate Dean of the University of Maryland School of Law, where development was among the functions in her portfolio. She led a major $50M endowment campaign, raising $74M including a $30M naming gift for the school. At the time in 2011, this was one of the largest endowment campaigns and largest ever gifts to any state-funded law school.

Teresa holds a BA from St. Olaf College, an AM from the University of Chicago, and a JD from the University of Maryland.
