Just the Facts on SSI and Disabled Kids

Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits for low-income disabled children are back in the news, in part because of a recent New York Times column by Nicholas Kristof.  We’ve issued a brief paper that explains some basic facts about the program — who qualifies, how long they receive benefits, SSI’s antipoverty impact, and whether the program suffers from widespread abuse, among other issues.
